Prudential Financial has announced that Yanela Frias, president of Group Insurance, will become the company’s executive vice president and chief financial officer starting March 15. Frias, who has been with the company for nearly 30 years, will join Prudential’s executive leadership team and report to Robert Falzon, vice chair of Prudential. Current CFO Ken Tanji will stay with the company through September 30 to ensure a smooth transition. Prudential CEO Charles Lowrey noted that Tanji has played an important role in the company’s success and thanked him for his contributions. Frias, meanwhile, has held a number of senior leadership positions at Prudential and has a deep understanding of the insurance and retirement industry. She is expected to have a significant impact in her new role as CFO.
